Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Cornwall

Wheal Merth is situated approximately ¼ of a mile up a quiet lane off the main A30 St Ives to Penzance road, very convenient, as it is out of the hustle and bustle of the major resorts but only 3 miles from Hayle, 3 miles from Marazion and 6 miles from the beautiful resort of St Ives.

Wheal Merth is only a small guest house and offers limited accommodation for up to four persons. The age of the building does not lend itself to have alterations to include en-suite facilities but guests have their own adjoining bathroom with bath and shower. The rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and a television is optional. There is a separate guests lounge with television where guests are quite welcome to sit and relax. A full English breakfast is served with various options available. This can be taken in the dining room or outside on the veranda, weather permitting. There is a no smoking policy in the house There are no facilities for pets Guests have access at all times Private parking facilities.

There are some splendid walks that can be enjoyed direct from the house. Just a short distance away is the Hayle estuary, a famous and very popular bird watching area. An excellent pub with good meals just a short walk away. The nearest beach is at Lelant, Porth Kidney Beach, a lovely expanse of soft sand, offering safe bathing and because it is out of the St Ives town area, never gets busy. Wheal Merth could not really be better placed for touring the whole of West Cornwall. The popular resort of St Ives is just 6 miles away, or why not avoid the traffic and parking, call in locally to the Lelant Rail Station and catch a train right into the town, it is one of the most scenic journeys in the country. Hayle, with all its fantastic beaches all the way around to Godrevy is just 3 miles. Marazion and Penzance are only a short drive making this an ideal location for an overnight stop before going to the Scilly Isles. Most of Cornwall can be reached within an hour’s drive, places such as the Eden Project are well within the hour. Your hosts are local to the area and will be only too please to suggest that nice place to visit or a good restaurant or pub.

A30 to St Ives roundabout - continue on the A30 towards Penzance for a short distance. You will then see the Lamb and Flag Inn on the left. Immediately opposite the Inn there are road markings indicating a right turn. Turn into the lane which is ‘Heather Lane’, continue for about 400 yards and your will see the B&B sign.
