Beaches and attractions in the Gorran Haven area

On the left is vault beach, a rugged short walk along the cliff path from Gorran Haven, or a steep walk from the National trust car park at the top. This area is totally unspoilt and provides excellent walks. Although the beach is very large, the sand is quite course. Not suitable for the bucket and spade brigade but there some excellent rock pools to explore.

Caerhayes - Close to Gorran Haven 
A popular little cove nestling below Caerhayes Castle
A gentle shelving beach with good sand, usually calm for children but faces towards the Southwest and can be good for surfing.
Parking/toilets/refreshments on the beach.
Gets busy in high season
Good cliff path walks


 


Gorran Haven
Gorran Haven Beach. Usually very calm as it is protected from the prevailing southwest wind by the Dodman Point. (as shown below).
The picture on the right depicts the harbour wall where some good fishing can be had at high water. (For deep sea fishing/mackerel boat trips see nearby Mevagissey)
Toilets/refreshments close-by.
Parking, a comfortable 5 minute walk.


There are many special events in the Mevagissey and Gorran Haven area during the summer months, this unusual sign depicts the little village of St Ewe's country fair.
