When the tide is out this is a large sandy beach with plenty of rock pools. When conditions permit, which is quite often, it is good for surfing. The beach becomes much smaller as the tide rises and the sand becomes more shingle based. The beach is sheltered by 400 feet cliffs and is both popular with locals and visitors alike.
