LOCATION
Spindrift is a large modern house furnished and decorated to a high standard
offering quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a
rel;axing atmosphere. Situated in an elevated position overlooking the beautiful
Pentewan Valley with views over the gardens or across
the valley towards Kingswood. On the main bus route from St Austell Rail and
Coach station. Close to Eden Project, Heligan Gardens , Charlestown and
Mevagissey.
ACCOMMODATION
Spindrift is in an elevated position with lovely countryside views. Two bedrooms
are on the ground floor, the first has one double and one single bed with
en-suite shower, toilet and wash basin, the second has a double bed with
en-suite toilet and wash basin together with a private separate bathroom. The
third bedroom which is upstairs, has a double and single bed with a private
bathroom on the ground floor. The gardens around Spindrift have seating for
guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The accommodation is unsuitable for
a wheelchair to either the house or gardens because of the elevated situation.

All rooms are equipped with tea/coffee/biscuits etc, colour television, clock
radio, hairdryer, tourist information brochures. Guests have access to their
rooms at all times. A hearty Cornish breakfast, using local produce, is served
in the dining area, with special diets catered for.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Spindrift is on the fringe of the small hamlet of London Apprentice between St
Austell and Mevagissey. It is just a short walk to a footpath, which is part of
the Cornish Way, this follows the White River down through the wooded Pentewan
Valley to Pentewan Village and beach, approx 2 miles. A lovely walk or cycle
ride. Good country restaurant within a short stroll. Popular village pub and
restaurant at Polgooth 1 mile.
The picturesque fishing harbour and village of Mevagissey, with boat trips,
restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, craft shops etc., and passenger ferry to Fowey.
Further sandy beaches at Porthpean, Carlyon Bay, Gorran Haven. Charlestown
harbour with its tall ships, museum, restaurants and pubs is 2 miles. The Lost
Gardens of Heligan 4 miles, The Eden Project 6 miles. St Austell town has a new
shopping centre, library, swimming pool, tennis courts multi screen cinema and
choice of 3 golf courses.
Within 30 minutes The city of Truro with lovely cathedral, cinema and theatre,
good shopping, popular boat trips down the river to Falmouth. Fowey a popular
riverside town with boat trips, foot ferry to Polruan, individual shops and
riverside walks. Bodmin town with the Jail museum leading on to Bodmin Moor and
Jamaica Inn
Spindrift is well placed in the centre of Cornwall. Virtually anywhere in the
county can be reached within an hour. Your hosts have been welcoming visitors
for over 25 years, can advise on places of interest and loan maps to make the
most of your visit.
DIRECTIONS
From the M5 at Exeter, make for Okehampton, Launceston, Bodmin, take the turn to
St Austell and Eden Project. From St Austell and the McDonalds double roundabout
take the B3273 towards Mevagissey, after 2 miles you come to London Apprentice,
look for Queenies cabin shop on the right, then a bend, the sign and drive for
Spindrift is on this bend on the right hand side. Go up the drive and park on
the large gravel parking/turning area.
