The Situation

Penarth is a lovely period house just 3 miles from the Eden Project, set in a semi rural location, within easy walking distance of the local pub and shops. We are surrounded by beautiful gardens, with a sun patio and private off road Parking for guests. Penarth is a family run B&B and you may be sure of a warm welcome and pot of tea on arrival. Bike hire is available in the village, ideal for cycling to Eden! All rooms are en-suite, with firm, comfortable beds, colour TV and refreshment trays. An ideal base to explore the whole of Cornwall or just a short drive to local major attractions such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, Wheal Martyn, Jamaica Inn, Lanhydrock and, of course, Eden on our doorstep!

Dining room with separate tables. A full English breakfast is served with various options also available including continental. Special dietary requirements Including Gluten Free catered for with a little notice.

Penarth is a non smoking guest house, although guests are quite welcome to make use of the garden and sun patio where smoking is permitted.

Sorry, there are no facilities for pets (although guide dogs are welcome).

The Sun Patio
Directions:
From the A30 Bodmin by-pass turn left onto the A391 signposted St Austell. Approx. 5 minutes you will enter Bugle village, turn right at the only set of traffic lights towards Roche. After a short distance you will go under a bridge, Penarth is approximately 50 yards on your left, clearly marked.

Local attractions:
Penarth is situated on the edge of the little mid Cornwall village of Bugle, just a 5 minute drive from the main A30.

The immediate area offers:
A good pub with restaurant facilities, just a short walk away.
Cycle hire in the village. An ideal way to explore the many country lanes in the area. The Eden Project even offers discounted prices for those arriving by pedal cycle.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan, a 20 minute drive
St Austell town - 10 minutes, shopping, multi screen cinema, leisure centre with swimming baths/badminton/squash etc.
Good choice of restaurants/pubs in the surrounding countryside.
Charlestown - 15 minutes, Tall Ships and Maritime Heritage Centre.
Mevagissey - 20 minutes. A picturesque little fishing port. Fishing/boat trips including a ferry to Fowey, excellent views along the coast and the Fowey River estuary.
Beaches - numerous, either south or north coasts
Truro City - 25 minutes, Magnificent cathedral/excellent shopping. Enjoy a boat trip down the river to Falmouth, a really enjoyable day out. (for those worried about being seasick, the river is never rough, just outstanding views). 
Bodmin Moor - 20 minutes, lovely walks and the famous Jamaica Inn

Touring
Virtually the whole of Cornwall can be reached within an hour from the Penarth .
As a guide:
Newquay - zoo, surfing beaches, aquarium - 20 minutes
Padstow - picturesque harbour, high speed boat rides, ferry to Rock with long walks along the beach. Very popular in high season. 40 minutes.
Falmouth - 45 minutes, Maritime Museum
St.Ives - 40 minutes, Tate gallery, picturesque harbour, beautiful beaches. Very busy in high season.
Lands End - 1 hr. 15 mins.
Penzance - 1 hour, St Michael's Mount, day trips to the Scilly Isles.
Plymouth City and Dartmoor - 45 mins. to an hour

Whatever your requirement, be it somewhere nice to visit or that pleasant evening meal your host will be only too pleased to help. The guest house carries a good supply of holiday brochures should you want further ideas.
