The Situation

'The Riggs' is a 16th century former market house and now a small family run guesthouse with the added attraction of having a small tea room providing cream teas, snacks and light lunches.

The Accommodation
All rooms, as one would expect from a property of this age are full of character and have been decorated and furnished to a high standard in keeping with their age.
All rooms are en-suite with a complimentary refreshment tray.
Spacious dining area where a full English breakfast is served with various other options available.

The 12th Century church and Old Post Office at Tintagel

Local Attractions:

Just a short walk
The Legend of King Arthur and the ruined castle attracts visitors of all nationalities throughout the year.

The National Trust properties dating from the 12th century include the Old Norman church and the Old Post Office

Tintagel is an ideal base to explore the wild cliffs and tiny hamlets.
The cliffs are regarded by many as being the most spectacular in Europe and are abundant with wild flowers, being carefully managed by the National Trust.

A short drive
There are numerous sandy beaches in the area, the closest being Trebarwith Strand which is only a few minutes drive. Well known for its rock pools, swimming and surfing.
Local fishing villages include Boscastle with its picturesque harbour, Port Isaac, and Polzeath.
Moving north easterly, it is a short distance to Bude and the Devon border where many more attractions can be located including Dartmoor.
Southeast takes you across Bodmin Moor to Looe, Polperro and the south coast resorts.
In Cornwall one is never more that 20 miles from the sea.
Activities such as riding, golf, surfing, are all closeby, and coach excursions can be taken from Tintagel.

Touring
Most of Cornwall is within an hours drive, the numerous gardens include the famous Eden Project (40 minutes), Lost Gardens of Heligan and numerous National Trust properties.
To assist visitors to the area there is an excellent Tourist information centre in the village.
