Enjoy a relaxing
break in a former workhouse in the centre of Mylor Bridge, a
popular creekside sailing village. Old School House, Grade II
listed, was built as a workhouse in 1827 and became a family home
a century later.
The present
owner offers quality... Instead of the workhouse diet of broth,
vegetables, and rice milk, you will be offered a full Cornish
breakfast prepared using fresh local ingredients. Bed &
Breakfast in a friendly, non-smoking house.
The three
bedrooms, two double and one twin, have been redecorated and all
have a hostess tray, colour television, radio alarm and hairdryer.
Mylor is close
to the sheltered waters of the River Fal and an ideal base for
touring Cornwall and its spectacular scenery and gardens. The wide
range of restaurants and cafs in the area, including The Lemon
Arms opposite and the pretty thatched Pandora Inn a few minutes
drive away, gives guests plenty of choice in the evening.
The full range
of facilities offered at The Old School House:
- A full
Cornish breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.15am. This may
include cereals, yoghurt, fresh and stewed fruit, local free
range eggs, bacon, sausages, hogs pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms
and freshly-made coffee, tea and toast.
- Vegetarian
and special diets can be provided if advised in advance.
- The three
bedrooms, two double and one twin, all have a hostess tray,
colour television, radio alarm and hairdryer.
- As an
incoming guest you will be welcomed from 5.00pm onwards and as
a departing guest will have left by 10.30am.
- The owners
regret that Casper, the resident cat, refuses to share his
home with other pets!
- For the
safety and comfort of all our guests we operate a "No
Smoking" policy.
