Situation |
|
|
Stephanie and Les invite you to savour the delights of their
17th Century Farmhouse,
Stef has created a wonderful atmosphere at
Trewinney. You will immediately notice how welcoming and cosy
the farmhouse feels.
The house is heated by the kitchen range, there is a wood burner
in the dining room and a large open fire in the lounge.
The farmhouse is set in two and a half acres
of land on the hills above Mevagissey.
There are several barn outbuildings and a small, walled kitchen
garden.
We have several ducks, chickens and geese which keep company
with Nutmeg our pygmy goat and "Mr Bunny" the rabbit.
The menagerie further includes,
Shukran, Tabatha and Gismo, our
cats and Buster the collie dog.
Trewinney is sited a little back from the
cliffs on the northern edge of Mevagissey, so it's easy to
understand how every bedroom has
superb sea views! |

All
bedrooms overlook the quaint front garden which maintains
interest for most of the year. Every room has
superb sea views ,
which change daily with the weather!
If a rural setting is a change for you,
waking up at Trewinney can be an interesting experience! If you
miss the cockerals crowing, or the geese and ducks calling to
one another on the lawn to the rear of the farmhouse, you will
almost certainly wake to the morning song, from the many birds
which visit our garden every day of the year!

Alice's room is �32.50 per person per night
Surcharge of �15 per night for single occupancy
Alice, our largest double room, has great charm and character,
featuring the
Luxurious dark-wood four-poster bed; comfy settee; original
fireplace; wood panelling and a very sloping floor.
To complete the scene, superb sea views of Mevagissey Bay and
Chapel Point are perfectly framed by the sash windows.
To make your stay a little more special and romantic
enjoy our complimentary gift of wine and chocolates.
Also included is a colour television, clock-radio and an
electric underblanket for those chillier nights.
A pretty teaset with a selection of hot drinks and biscuits,
wine glasses and corkscrew.
Fluffy towels, toiletries, tissues, hair dryer and a selection

Our second double room is slightly smaller, but features the
original wood beams to a low ceiling, giving a very cosy feeling
to the room.
The double bed is placed to enable you to sit up in bed and
appreciate the superb sea views through the wide, small paned
windows.
Darkwood furniture and co-ordinated soft furnishings give the
room a romantic feel, especially when the moonlight is reflected
off the water of Mevagissey Bay!
To make your stay a little more special and romantic

Our spacious twin room can sleep 3 people and features the
original fireplace; wood panalling and beams. A light but
cosy atmosphere is created by the combination of antique
pine furniture and luxurious soft furnishings. The sash
windows focus your attention on the superb views of
Mevagissey Bay and Chapel Point.

Also included is a colour television, an electric
underblanket/bottle for those chillier nights and a

Typical of most single room accommodation, our room is small but
tastefully furnished, very cosy and offers stunning views of the
sea and coast. Many of our guests while away the late evening
watching the day close from the cosy chair in front of the
window.

Also included is a colour television, a hot water bottle for
those chillier nights and a selection of hot drinks and
biscuits. Wine glasse & corkscrew.

Bathroom
None of our rooms are en-suite! We will not spoil the "old world
feel" of the farmhouse by attempting to provide en-suite
facilities .

Our bathroom is warm and cosy with a window overlooking the rear
lawn and orchard. Most mornings, the antics of our resident
menagerie of ducks, geese and chickens will keep you amused.
Guests can use the electric shower, or alternatively, you can
take a bath that is fed directly from the cooking range which
has plenty of steaming hot water available around the clock.
There is a selection of toiletries, including bubble bath,
shower gel, liquid soap, shampoo & conditioner, deodorant and
perfume for guests use.

Breakfast time at Trewinney
When you wake in the morning, the aroma of freshly baked bread
drifts through the farmhouse. Shortly afterwards, a suggestion
of freshly made coffee is in the air. At this point you know
it's time to go down for breakfast!
Stephanie provides, what the majority of our guests would
describe as, a truly hearty and traditional breakfast.
We do believe in breakfasting like a king!
A hearty breakfast sets you up for the day and gives you
more time to enjoy your break!
Vegetarians and vegans can be
catered for.
Please notify us if you have any particular dietry requirement.
Breakfast at Trewinney consists of the following:

usually any two from orange, grapefruit, grape, pineapple,

Places worth
visiting
Between
the two coasts you will find many picturesque villages like;
Mevagissey; Gorran Haven; Portloe; Port Holland; Veryan;
Portscatho; St Mawes and St Just in Roseland to name but a few.
The
Coastal
footpath ,
which is 400
mtrs from our door, visits many of these wonderful places.
Trewinney is just 5 miles from St Austell, which is situated at
the north eastern corner of the tri-angular
" Roseland
Peninsular " ,
with St Mawes
at the southern tip. The cathedral city of Truro, marks the
north western corner of the Roseland Peninsular.
Mevagissey
is on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsular and overlooks
St Austell Bay ... whilst the western coast fronts on to the
famous river estuary anchorage of the Carrick Roads around
Falmouth.
The Roseland Peninsular probably has the most diverse
landscape in Cornwall!
Within 30 minutes drive
you can find...
two and three masted sailing ships waiting to put to sea... the
salt marshes of the river estuary between St Mawes and Truro....
rolling hills of woods and fields between Truro and St
Austell... and superb wooded valleys leading to
chocolate box coves and beaches
... and much, much more!
Cornwall has many interesting places and Trewinney is ideally
placed, being central to both Plymouth and Lands End.
Equally, Newquay, Tintagel, Padstow, St Ives and many other
fascinating places on the north coast are only 30 to 60 minutes
drive away, perfect for day trips.
