Situation |

Pentewan lies in the centre of Cornwall's south coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The popular but unspoilt Roseland Peninsular begins here. The coastline is made up of cliffs and rolling green countryside extending to the sea where there is a large, safe sandy beach - ideal for families, bathing, fishing and water sports. The local area has several good unspoilt beaches plus the surfing areas of Newquay and the north coast are only 30-40 minutes away.

Primrose cottage (circa 1750) is set n a terrace on a quiet lane (no through road) with an open outlook onto the hills at the front. The land leads up to a wooded hillside. A five-minute walk will take you to the beach past a small disused harbour - still very popular with ducks, a swan, occasional cormorants and a family of otters. The village square is only a few minutes from the cottage, giving a distinctly 'French air', where people sit, chat and rest a while.
The cottage has been updated but maintains its original character. It is warm and homely with many pictures and ornaments. The front porch leads into an open-plan lounge with wood-beamed ceiling. There is a comfortable suite, TV coffee table etc. The dining area at tone end leads into the kitchen which has modern fitted cupboards and work tops, sink unit, cooker, washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer.
The central heating is easy and instant, ideal for those who don't want to chop wood for the open fire!

Pentewan Beach,
just a short walk
|
|
There are many lovely walks - woodland, riverside and coastal paths There is beautiful scenery around the coast and the rivers
Fowey, Fal and Helford - many places having been made famous by Daphne de
Maurier, and more recently Wycliffe (Gerran Churchtown) and the Camomile Lawn TV series. The are many National Trust properties and gardens in the area as well as the famous 'Lost Gardens of
Heligan' which are less than 2 miles away. The Eden Project, 7 miles in the opposite direction and is a must for any visitor to Cornwall.
There are many more hamlets and villages within easy reach of
Pentewan, Mevagissey for instance is a beautiful and picturesque village approximately 2 miles form
Pentewan. In the other direction you will fins St Austell, a small Cornish town with a good range of shops and supermarkets as well as a cinema, and sports complex. From St Austell you can access the rest of Cornwall by train or bus if you don't have transport of your own. Many quiet pastimes to be enjoyed locally including golf, sailing and horse riding.
The village of Pentewan is very pretty, always winning a certificate in the annual Britain in Bloom competition. The village pub produces excellent meals and often has entertainment in the evenings (open all day in season). In the square there is a post office and a small store, which stocks general provisions as well as a small and friendly restaurant which again is open all day in season.
