The
picturesque working port of Fowey is a few minutes drive or a
two mile walk along the �Old Saints Way.�
Fowey is an ancient and bustling deep water port, its
narrow entrance guarded by the two castles which use to
support a chain decreed by Henry VIII to keep the pirates out,
and others.
Ferries can be taken to Polruan or Bodinnick, where
Daphne Du Maurier lived and wrote her first book �The Loving
Spirit�.
The area has become �Daphne Du Maurier country�
with festivals of arts and literature etc.
There are country inns and restaurants here in plenty
to suite all tastes and pockets.
Fowey
holds its annual Carnival, floral dance, sailing regattas in
August including two firework displays and a visit from the
Red Arrows

walkers have easy access to �The Saints Way�, South
Coastal path, and several other river and rural walks.
National Trust properties and Gardens, the Eden
